This doesn’t seem to pull the theme I have going in Magento. It just pulls the default Magento theme. Any ideas on what I have wrong?

You are right. For topLinks block to show links inside header block you need to set it as child of header block and add links manually. Take a look at example in updated article.

I am trying to make WordPress to load header.phtml use code below:
$headerBlock = $layout->createBlock(‘page/html_header’)->setTemplate(‘page/html/header.phtml’)->toHtml();
Inside header.phtml, Magento is rendering top links by calling $this->getChildHtml(‘topLinks’);
But, $this->getChildHtml would return blank for WordPress. I think the layout xml not being loaded and parsed,

All $this->getChildHtml is not working somehow. Any idea?
